Cosby Asks ‘Black Media’ to Have a ‘Neutral Mind’
In his second time speaking to the press about the numerous sexual assault allegations levied against him over the past two months, Bill Cosby said that “black media’’ should “go in with a neutral mind.’’
Cosby spoke briefly with the New York Post’s Stacy Brown on Friday from his Massachusetts home. Brown reported that he sounded “upbeat.’’
“Let me say this,’’ Cosby said. “I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.’’
He did not address how he expects non-black media to approach his story.
Asked how his wife of 50 years, Camille, was dealing with the slew of allegations against her husband, most recently model Beverly Johnson’s claim that the comedian drugged her in the mid-80s, Cosby said: “Love and the strength of womanhood.’’
“They don’t want me talking to the media,’’ Cosby then said, ending the conversation.
