New York City Subway Passengers Nearly Killed by Giant Drill Bit
We are some of the last people that would defend the MBTA. It’s slow. It’s poorly designed. The price keeps going up. But hey, at least it’s not trying to kill us with a giant drill bit.
About 800 MTA passengers in New York City can’t say the same about their train ride Thursday afternoon. An F train full of people was going through a tunnel when a 10-inch-wide drill bit came boring down through the tunnel and within inches of going through the train car’s roof.
An MTA spokesperson said a contractor was to blame for the incident, but that it’s still under investigation. “They were off the mark,’’ he said. Ya think?
