Lava from the Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii’s big island has been slowly flowing toward the town of Pahoa. It has engulfed everything in its path thus far, and the town is next. Residents have begun to flee.

According to Vox, this volcano has been erupting fairly continuously since 1983, but the lava flow has mostly gone into the ocean. In the past few months, things have changed and a new lava flow is headed toward Pahoa.
