Public Memorial, Funeral for Michael Brown Set For Monday
A funeral and public memorial will be held on Monday morning for the Missouri teen shot by a Ferguson police officer, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Michael Brown, 18, was killed by Officer Darren Wilson on August 9. Brown was shot several times after Wilson ordered him to walk on the sidewalk instead of the street and he refused. Brown was unarmed, prompting widespread and continuing protests.
According to Brown family attorney Anthony Gray, organizers are still working to find a large enough venue for the memorial. Services will most likely begin between 10 and 11 a.m
“It’s going to be public and it’s going to be supported by national leaders,’’ Gray said. “We don’t have details on who those national leaders will be at this time.’’
