National Guard Descends on Ferguson
Governor Jay Nixon ordered the National Guard to deploy to Ferguson, Mo. after days of protest in the community.
This move comes a little over a week after Missouri teen Michael Brown was shot by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. Since the shooting protests, many of which are violent, have been occurring with the police.
“These violent acts are a disservice to the family of Michael Brown and his memory, and to the people of this community who yearn for justice to be served, and to feel safe in their own homes,’’ Nixon said in a statement, according to The Boston Globe.
