If someone is chasing you in a pickup truck and has a deadly weapon, you should probably choose a better getaway vehicle than a lawnmower.

Unfortunately, a 32-year-old Florida man did not get that memo, and tried to flee his father during an argument while riding on a lawnmower, according to NorthEscambia.com.

Marshall H. Harmon, 71, has been charged with aggravated battery for allegedly shooting his son after a verbal altercation.

NorthEscambia.com reports:

When the elder Harmon pulled alongside his son on the riding mower, Harmon fired two shots in the son’s direction, according to Sgt. Andrew Hobbs, spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. It did not immediately appear that Harmon intended to shoot his son, but may have instead accidentally hit him.

One of the shots hit Harmon’s son in the neck and he was taken to an area hospital, but officials told NorthEscambia that the injuries were not life threatening.

The older Harmon did not protest (or ride away on the lawnmower) when being taken into custody.
