Earthquake strongly felt across Los Angeles

An earthquake has been felt in the Los Angeles area, according to multiple reports.

The Los Angeles Times reported the quake struck at 6:25 a.m., PDT:

On its website, the United States Geological Survey reported the preliminary magnitude as 4.4.

New England Cable News meteorologist Matt Noyes tweeted that the quake caused: “Lots of shaking, no damage reports yet, no tsunami concern.’’

And a Los Angeles radio station seized on the fact that today is St. Patrick’s Day and gave the quake a special name: “They are calling this earthquake “The Shamrock Shake.’’
