WCVB announces longtime meteorologist Dick Albert has died

Dick Albert, WCVB’s former chief meteorologist, died Friday after complications from pneumonia, the station announced Friday evening. He was 73.

Albert, a Newton native, was on local TV for 31 years, the station said. He joined WCVB in 1978 and retired in 2009, earning multiple regional Emmys along the way.
