Local obituary: Jimmy McIntosh, Carlisle 18-year-old set to attend College of Charleston

James “Jimmy” Pehl McIntosh, age 18, of Carlisle, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2025.

He was born in Boston on March 30, 2007, to his loving parents Elizabeth McIntosh (Pehl) and Allen Scott McIntosh. Jimmy lived in Milford until he was 4, at which time the family moved to Carlisle into Liz’s childhood home. Jimmy was magnetic since the day he was born, filling all the hearts he touched with love and joy. Jimmy attended Carlisle Public Schools from grades K-8, making friends with kids, teachers, and parents alike. Jimmy was never afraid to interact with anyone and had a confidence and spirit that few children have at that age.

Jimmy was incredibly independent, creative, intellectually curious, and enviably fashionable. He loved to make pottery, shop, travel, and especially spend time with his family and friends. Jimmy traveled to the BVI’s and Florida by himself as a pre-teen to visit both sets of Grandparents. He loved a good adventure.

Jimmy was a caring and compassionate person participating in the Mentors in Violence Prevention club at the school.

Jimmy fell in love with Charleston, SC, when visiting and was looking forward to attending College of Charleston in the fall.

Jimmy is survived by his parents Liz and Scott, his maternal grandparents Carol (Sawicky) and James Pehl of Marlborough, MA, his paternal grandfather James McIntosh of Findlay, OH, his Aunt Katherine McCabe (Pehl) and husband David McCabe of Marlborough, MA, his Uncle William McIntosh and wife Julie McIntosh (Dean) Findlay, OH, and his Aunt Teresa Steed (McIntosh) and husband Douglas Steed of Toledo, OH, as well as his loving cousins and cherished great aunts, uncles, and extended family. Jimmy was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Nancy McIntosh (Kelly).

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center, on Sunday, May 4, from 2 to 6 pm. A memorial service in celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held on Monday, May 5, at 4 pm at the First Religious Society, 27 School Street, Carlisle. A reception will immediately follow at the Carlisle Public School. Services will be broadcast in the Carlisle School auditorium given anticipated capacity issues at the church.
