With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cindy Gissel Alfaro Martinez, who left us far too soon on March 2, 2025, at Children’s Hospital. Born on May 31, 2005, Cindy was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
She was the beloved daughter of Rolando Alfaro and Marjorie Martinez and the cherished sister of Rolando and Christopher. Cindy’s love extended beyond her immediate family, as she was also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
A proud graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 2023, Cindy was pursuing her dreams at Boston University, where she was dedicated to her studies and building a future full of promise. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an impact that will never be forgotten.
Family and friends will gather to honor Cindy’s life at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home on Sunday, March 9, from 5-9 PM and again on Monday morning at 9 AM, before proceeding to Most Holy Redeemer Parish in East Boston for an 11 AM funeral Mass. Cindy will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, where she will be surrounded by love and remembrance.
Cindy’s beautiful soul will forever remain in our hearts, and her light will continue to shine through the love and memories she shared with those around her.
Rest in peace, Cindy. You are deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
