Here’s where severe storms did the most damage

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred caused some mayhem across central and eastern Massachusetts.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred brought severe storms to much of the region on Thursday.

Multiple tornado and flash flood warnings were issued ahead of the storms. Trees were uprooted and torn down in Clinton, and streets were flooded around the North Shore, Newton, and Worcester.

WEATHER UPDATES

It’s unclear whether the tornado touched down, but multiple meteorologists were reporting evidence of rotation in areas of the storm over central and eastern Massachusetts.

Parts of Clinton, Mass. experienced serious storm damage.

In Worcester, several cars were abandoned on Route 20 when overflowing storm drains flooded the street with several feet of water. A construction worker helped rescue a mother and her two children from their vehicle, which was stuck in water up to the windows.

“It was scary,” the mother, Vanny Lima, told the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. “I’ve never seen this in my life. I was freaking out. I was scared because this is the only thing I have, my car. This gets me to work. It gets me everything.”

A vehicle was seen abandoned in Newton, as well.

On the North Shore, Peabody and Saugus both experienced heavy flooding.

There’s always someone making the most of it, of course.
