Off-duty police officer seriously injured in crash with fire truck in Dorchester
Four firefighters were also injured.
Authorities are investigating a crash involving a fire truck in Dorchester that left an off-duty Boston police officer with life-threatening injuries. Boston police said officers responded to the crash around 2:26 a.m. at Washington Street and Talbot Avenue. The off-duty officer was driving a vehicle involved in the crash with the Boston Fire Department truck and is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Four firefighters were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. According to CBS Boston, the crash resulted in the fire truck slamming into a Bank of America.

According to CBS Boston, it is unclear whether the fire truck that slammed into the bank was on its way to the fire at the time of the crash.
Boston police said the crash remains under investigation by the department’s Homicide Unit and Fatal Collision Investigation Team.
