Here’s how hot it will feel in Massachusetts on Tuesday
“Take it easy today and stay hydrated.”
Forecasters are cautioning that searing temperatures and high humidity on Tuesday will make it feel hotter than 100 degrees in Massachusetts.The National Weather Service said a heat advisory remains in effect for most of southern New England, while an excessive heat warning is in place for eastern and northeastern Massachusetts, including Greater Boston.
The heat is expected to last through Wednesday.
“The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure,” service meteorologists said of the areas under the warning, where heat indexes could reach between 100 and 105 degrees.

With the blistering heat, some schools in the Bay State are holding early dismissals this week. The City of Boston is opening community center pools to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday as cooling centers.

“Take it easy today and stay hydrated,” the service said. “Limit strenuous outdoor activities. Wear light clothing and stay hydrated.”
