Forecasters are cautioning that searing temperatures and high humidity on Tuesday will make it feel hotter than 100 degrees in Massachusetts. The National Weather Service said a heat advisory remains in effect for most of southern New England, while an excessive heat warning is in place for eastern and northeastern Massachusetts, including Greater Boston.

The heat is expected to last through Wednesday.

“The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure,” service meteorologists said of the areas under the warning, where heat indexes could reach between 100 and 105 degrees.
Heat indices tomorrow and Wednesday are expected to be near or above 100°F across the region. What’s the Heat Index? The Heat Index tells you how hot it feels with humidity. https://t.co/Y5eM2ySogD #HeatSafety #SummerSafety pic.twitter.com/rfnuNNLaf2
