A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition after falling from a seventh-floor window of a Worcester apartment building Wednesday evening, authorities say.
Police responded at about 7:21 p.m. to 132 Country Club Blvd. for a report of a child who had fallen from an upper-floor window, according to a statement from Worcester Police Department Sgt. Elise Miranda.
The boy fell from the seventh floor and landed in an area of mulch, Miranda said.
Despite the fall, the child was alert, breathing, and conscious, though he was crying, she said. He was taken to a nearby hospital.
As of Thursday morning, the boy was in stable condition, Miranda said.
Authorities have not released the child’s name.
WPD’s Crime Scene Unit and Special Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fall, according to Miranda.
