Kingston police are investigating a now-former employee of the Silver Lake Regional School District after a video surfaced of him allegedly appearing to have a “sexualized conversation” with a TikTok streamer posing as a 15-year-old girl.
In a statement released Saturday, the police department said it learned of the video on Thursday evening.
Police said that after an initial investigation, there was no evidence that any students were victimized or received inappropriate communications from the individual.
The individual, whom the police did not name, is no longer employed by the school district and is not permitted on school property, the statement said.
The department said the complexity of the social media-based investigation prevents it from releasing more information, as doing so could impede the case.
“Given the disturbing nature of these allegations, we understand the concern from parents,” the statement said. “Crimes against children are some of the most egregious violations of law and community values. We will ensure a thorough investigation is conducted.”
School Superintendent Jill Proulx, in a statement shared with CBS Boston, noted that the district is in contact with police and is aware of the concerns.
“Student safety is our top priority,” she said.
