Police are investigating an early Saturday morning hit-and-run that left one person dead at Mass. and Cass, police said.
At around 1:10 a.m., police arrived at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard for a person struck by a vehicle, the Boston Police Department told Boston.com in an emailed statement.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead, BPD said.
The driver involved in the crash fled the scene before first responders arrived, Boston police said.
Police did not release the identity of the victim nor the description of the suspected car or driver.
Authorities are still actively investigating the incident, police said.
