A 49-year-old woman was arrested Thursday night after her dog allegedly attacked another dog and its owner Tuesday in Everett, officials said.
Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to a reported dog bite near 393 Ferry St., according to a statement from Everett police released Thursday night.
The suspect was later identified through video surveillance, and police located the woman around 8:30 p.m. Thursday walking with her dog on Ferry Street, police said.
The woman was arrested on several outstanding warrants and was taken into custody, according to the police statement. She is expected to be arraigned Friday in Malden District Court.
The dog, described as an 11-month-old hound, was taken by Everett Animal Control and will be quarantined in accordance with Mass General Laws, police said.
The injured dog, named Mushroom, was taken to a vet and is expected to survive. She needed 50 stitches, several surgeries, and an artificial skin to protect her organs, WCVB reported.
