Signature Healthcare and Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital are dealing with a cybersecurity incident that has disrupted parts of their information systems, prompting the hospital to activate its incident response protocols.
The hospital announced that they found the suspicious activity on their network on Monday.
“We are working with outside resources to help us investigate the incident and restore operations as quickly as possible,” the hospital said in a statement.
As of Tuesday morning, a hospital spokesperson said there were no new updates and that they were continuing to work with investigators to resolve the issue.
As a response to the cyberattack, the hospital is continuing to use alternative documentation methods to provide care.
In addition, the hospital moved to its “downtime” procedures to ensure patient care and safety.
Inpatient and walk-in emergency services remain open. Surgeries and procedures, such as endoscopy, will continue. Ambulatory physician practices and urgent care practices will also remain open, although patients may experience some delays as the hospital works through the issues.
However, the hospital is diverting ambulances and is canceling chemotherapy infusion services for cancer patients on Tuesday. Patients should call the Greene Cancer Center to reschedule.
The retail pharmacies at 110 Liberty St., Brockton, and 1 Donalds Way, East Bridgewater will be closed.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we deal with this unfortunate situation,” the statement said.
