A pedestrian was hit and killed Monday afternoon while crossing I-90 Mass. turnpike in Ludlow, police said.
Troopers from the Westfield barracks responded to a call at around 12:30 p.m. Monday regarding a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on I-90, State Police wrote in an emailed statement to Boston.com.
The pedestrian was crossing I-90 East near the 54 mile marker in Ludlow when a vehicle struck them, police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where they died from their injuries, police said.
All travel lanes were closed for half an hour, State Police said.
State Police Detectives, Collision Analysis Reconstruction, Crime Scene Services Section, and Ludlow Fire/EMS also assisted during the crash, police said.
The victim’s identity had not been released as of 4:30 p.m. Monday.
