Mass. police officer arrested for OUI, department says

“The Norwood Police Department holds its officers to the highest standards of conduct and accountability,” the department said.

A Norwood police officer was arrested on Thursday and is facing an OUI charge, the department said. 

Officer Shawn Willman is charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, the Norwood Police Department announced in a Facebook post Sunday.

He was off duty at the time of his arrest, the department said.

Willman was placed on administrative leave and his employment is pending on the outcome of the criminal case, Norwood police said. 

An internal affairs investigation is also being carried out by the department, police said.
