A firefighter suffered cardiac arrest while battling a fire that spread across the roof of a warehouse in Hyde Park on Sunday night, officials said.

The medical emergency occurred as crews were fighting the blaze at 1 Westinghouse Plaza. The firefighter was transported by ambulance, according to a Boston Police Department report.

Police said preliminary information indicated the firefighter was in cardiac arrest. The firefighter’s name has not been released.

Around 8 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a building fire at the warehouse, according to the police report.

After arriving on scene, first responders observed flames coming from the top of the warehouse and requested additional units to assist, according to the police report. The Boston Fire Department shared on X that a second alarm had been struck.

Detail companies remained at the scene to check for hot spots, BFD said.

No other injuries were reported.

The Boston Fire Investigation Unit is still investigating the cause of the fire, the department said in a statement.
