A Barnstable man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly obtaining and distributing child pornography, local police said.
Barnstable police arrested Scott Grella, 38, at a Marstons Mills home on Wednesday evening after a tipster accused Grella of possessing and disseminating child pornography, the Barnstable Police Department announced in a Facebook post.
Grella is charged with possession of child pornography, and dissemination of child pornography. He is being held on a $3,000 cash bail at the Barnstable Police Department, police said.
The Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip that alleged an online account obtained and distributed child pornography, local police said.
During a follow-up investigation, the account was determined to be Grella’s, police said.
Investigators also discovered “at least one” of Grella’s electronics to be allegedly contained with child pornography at the time of his arrest, Barnstable police said.
Grella is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on May 12, police said.
The United States Secret Service Cyber Fraud Task Force assisted in Grella’s arrest, Barnstable police said.
