Stonehill College is purchasing Easton Country Club, a 150-acre golf course in Easton, the college announced.

Easton Country Club will remain a semi-private venue open to Stonehill students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as the broader local golfing community, according to a statement from Stonehill College.

Current operations are expected to remain largely unchanged. General Manager Mark Lombardi will continue overseeing the club, and league play, public tee times, and existing club programming will still be offered, according to Stonehill.

“This acquisition is a natural and meaningful extension of Stonehill’s mission,” John Denning, president of Stonehill College, said in a statement. “It will help increase our capacity to enrich the experiences of all students across academics, athletics, recreation and community engagement.”

The purchase aligns with goals outlined in Stonehill 2030: Building Together, the college’s five-year strategic plan focused on student growth.

The course will also serve as a home for Stonehill athletics. The college said it will support the women’s golf team and help launch a new men’s golf program during the 2027-28 season in NCAA Division I.

School officials said the property will create hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, including coursework, case studies, and student employment opportunities.

“As we undertake this exciting initiative, we are committed to stewarding this land in ways that benefit not only our campus community but also our neighbors in Easton and surrounding cities and towns,” Denning said.
