A man who was clearing snow from his vehicle Monday night was fatally hit by a tractor-trailer on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Hopkinton, police said.
Massachusetts State Police said troopers from the Millbury Barracks responded to Interstate 90 West at the 104.6-mile marker.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Patrick Sarpong, of Vernon, Connecticut, was standing on the edge of the roadway when he was struck by a passing tractor-trailer, police said.
Westborough Fire and Emergency Medical Services treated Sarpong, but he later died at a nearby hospital, police said.
