This blizzard was too much for even Market Basket to bear, it seems.

The grocery chain closed all of its Massachusetts stores early Monday — more than 50 locations — in light of the snowstorm, also shuttering several New Hampshire and Rhode Island branches.

“Due to the severe weather today, and for the safety of our associates and customers, the majority of Market Basket stores will be closing at 12 PM noon today,” the company said on its website.

More than a dozen Market Basket outposts remain open, however, including:

  • Biddeford, Maine
  • Westbrook, Maine
  • Topsham, Maine
  • Claremont, New Hampshire
  • Concord, New Hampshire (all stores)
  • Milford, New Hampshire
  • North Conway, New Hampshire
  • Plymouth, New Hampshire
  • Swanzey, New Hampshire
  • Tilton, New Hampshire
  • Warner, New Hampshire
