2 Framingham police officers off the force after misconduct probe, department says

The officers, whom the department has not named publicly, were placed on paid administrative leave in September.

The two Framingham police officers previously placed on paid leave no longer work for the department after an internal investigation, the department announced last week.

The two officers, whom the department has not named publicly, were placed on paid administrative leave in September due to “alleged misconduct,” police said at the time, adding that “the issues under review involve potential health and wellness.”

Framingham police’s internal affairs investigation “concluded that violations of departmental rules and policies did occur, and those violations were sustained.”

Due to the result of the investigation, the two officers are no longer employed by the department.

No information about the allegations and violations were released by officials.

The department also referred the matter to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office for a criminal investigation. No criminal charges have been filed, Framingham police noted, and the DA’s office did not return a request for comment Sunday evening.

Framingham police also submitted the matter to the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training, or POST, Commission, the department said.

The commission did not return a request for more information into its investigation. POST’s regularly updated database of sustained allegations and disciplinary actions show only two officers committed misconduct last year. One was suspended for one to five days, while the other received a written reprimand.
