Authorities have identified the person who died in a fatal crash in Barnstable on Friday, Jan. 9.

Concetta Sherman, 19, was the victim, according to Massachusetts State Police. She was a resident of Centerville. Sherman was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle.
The crash occurred on Route 6 westbound, State Police previously said. She was trapped inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sherman, known to friends and family as “Cetta B,” was born in Weymouth and raised in Brockton. She began working in pottery shops at the age of 14 and was employed in a store at Mashpee Commons when she died, according to an online obituary.
Sherman had a sister who died in 2017 “of the same unimaginable fate,” according to a GoFundMe set up in her name. It has raised more than $11,000.
“Cetta B loved chasing sunsets, her cats, board games, and spending time with her family. She really enjoyed boating on Bass River and Smugglers Beach, and exploring all of Cape Cod. She Loved Laughing, Goofing Around and had a gift for witty and sarcastic comments for those who knew her best,” the obituary reads.
