The Lexington Police Department is searching for a teenager after she was reported missing by school staff more than a week ago, the department said.
Kayleigh McCormack, 16, was last seen at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 while leaving Pelham Academy in Lexington, police said. The teen is described as 5’0,” white, and weighing 175 pounds.
Pelham Academy is a residential school that provides supportive mental health care to girls ages 12 to 22, the school says on its website.
“Our mission is to provide individualized care within a supportive community with the goal of promoting resiliency, growth, and independence,” the school’s website reads.
McCormack was last seen wearing a black jacket over a grey sweatshirt and black leggings with pink Jordan sneakers, Lexington police said.
Police are urging those who may have information relating to McCormack’s whereabouts to contact Detective Ducharme of the Lexington Police Department at 781-862-1212.
