Video: Driver facing charges after doing doughnuts in dad’s pickup goes wrong, police say
The 20-year-old driver hit a bike path fence and then fled the scene, according to police.
Police in Milford posted a video of a pickup truck doing doughnuts in a snowy parking lot, with the vehicle eventually crashing into an adjacent fence.
They say the driver — a 20-year-old who lives in town — is now facing charges: negligent operation of a motor vehicle, wanton destruction of property, and leaving the scene of property damage.
Police said Parks Department reported the damage to the bike path fence at Fino Field last Friday morning. Officers then pulled CCTV footage, which showed the joyriding Dodge Ram.
A few days later, on Monday, “using a series of law enforcement investigative technology,” police said they identified the owner of the vehicle. Later that day, they spoke to his son, who allegedly admitted to being behind the wheel at the time.
