Update: Regular service resumed at about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Shuttle buses were called into action Wednesday morning after reports of smoke between the JFK/UMass and North Quincy stations on the Red Line.

The MBTA announced shortly before 9 a.m. that the buses would be replacing trains on that stretch, after previously reporting delays of 15 and 25 minutes.

“Personnel are on scene working to resolve the issue,” the MBTA said.
