2 dead in multi-vehicle crash in Watertown

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Watertown Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.

Two people died in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Watertown, according to police.

Watertown police and firefighters responded to the scene on Bigelow Avenue around noon. First responders declared the two victims dead at the scene, as a result of injuries from the crash, police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

Police did not release the identities of the victims or note whether there were other parties involved.

Multiple news outlets reported that the two victims had attended a funeral at a nearby church and were on their way to a memorial meal when the crash took place.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Watertown Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
