A thresher shark washed up on Cape Cod for the second time in a week.

A 13-foot male thresher shark was found dead on a beach, according to a Saturday Facebook post from MA Sharks. The shark was discovered at Campground Beach in Eastham, the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance, which shared additional photos.

Previously, on Wednesday, a 14-foot male thresher shark washed up on Mayo Beach in Wellfleet and died shortly before help arrived.

Thresher sharks, among other marine species, can become stranded on Cape Cod beaches after getting caught in the state’s hook shape while trying to migrate south, according to the alliance.
