“I am proud of these three officers,” the chief said.

Billerica Police Department

Three Billerica police officers delivered Amazon packages after finding them in the middle of the road in two separate instances.

Around 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 25, Officer Samuel Hawkes discovered eight packages in the roadway behind Towne Plaza at 700 Boston Road, the police department announced on Wednesday.

With the help of Officer Matthew Irwin, Hawkes delivered the packages to their intended Billerica addresses and notified Amazon of the situation.

Then on Tuesday around 1:15 a.m., Officer Thomas Huff found another eight Amazon packages scattered on the ground near 129 Plaza at 258 Salem Road. He also delivered the sealed packages to their intended Billerica addresses and notified Amazon.

“These two incidents really highlight the care that Billerica Police officers put into their jobs, whether they are responding to a major emergency, or just ensuring that residents get lost packages during the holiday season,” Chief Roy Frost said in a statement. “I am proud of these three officers.”
