One person died in a single-vehicle crash in Tewksbury on Sunday.
Around 9:30 p.m., Tewksbury police received a report of a crash on Main Street underneath the Route 495 overpass.
Upon arrival at the scene, police said they discovered a gray SUV with heavy damage, resting on its side against the bridge.
The Tewksbury Fire Department removed the driver from the vehicle. There were no other passengers or people involved in the crash.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lowell General Hospital paramedics, police said.
The preliminary investigation suggests the driver suffered a medical issue prior to the crash, although the investigation into the crash remains ongoing by Tewksbury police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
