Police are investigating after a man died from a gunshot wound after a shooting in Norwood Saturday afternoon, officials announced.
Norwood police responded to the area of 9 Hoyle St. around 2 p.m. after 911 call came in “requesting assistance,” the Norfolk County District Attorney said in a release.
A male victim was found with a gunshot wound, the DA said, and was transported to a Needham hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing. Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden said there is no threat to the public.
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the DA’s office will work with the Norwood police to investigate.
No further details were available.
