Father and son, 35 and 12, die in Conn. crash

The back-seat passenger, a 10-year-old son, survived the crash with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

A father and son from Waterbury died in a single-vehicle crash in Bristol, Connecticut on Saturday.

Around 11 a.m., Bristol police received a report of a single-vehicle crash near 647 Willis St.

At the scene, officers discovered that the vehicle had left the roadway and had struck a tree.

First responders attempted life-saving measures on scene and had to extricate two of the three occupants from the vehicle, police said. This third passenger did not require extrication.

All three occupants were transported to Bristol Hospital where the father, 35, and son, 12, the two front-seat occupants, were pronounced dead, police said.

The back-seat passenger, a 10-year-old son, sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.
