Stoneham police are investigating a crash that occurred Friday afternoon and claimed the life of a child.
At about 4:30 p.m., a 73-year-old driver was turning left off of Oak Street onto Royal Street when an electric dirt bike struck his car, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Stoneham Police Chief James O’Connor.
The 13-year-old boy who was riding the dirt bike was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.
The DA’s office, Stoneham police, and Massachusetts State Police are investigating further for more details about the crash. No other information is immediately available.
