A Princeton man was arrested and charged Thursday after police allegedly found nine explosive devices in his truck, the Princeton Police Department said in a release.
Jason Baldarelli, 27, pleaded not guilty in Leominster District Court to possessing explosives. He is being held on $7,500 cash bail, court records show.
The arrest stemmed from the report of explosions on Wheeler Road on Monday around 4 a.m. An investigation identified Baldarelli as a suspect, and officers obtained a search warrant, police said.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Massachusetts Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, worked to conduct a planned traffic stop on Thursday at 7 a.m., where officers found nine explosive devices in Baldarelli’s truck, officials said.
The Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Office identified the devices as “homemade improvised explosive devices,” which are manufactured, designed, or used to produce an explosion, according to court documents.
Baldarelli was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of explosive devices, police said.
Baldarelli’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The explosive devices were secured and will be safely detonated by the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, according to police.
