Taunton man dead after crash in West Bridgewater

A car appeared to have rear-ended an Amazon tractor-trailer on Route 24.

A Taunton man died Sunday after being involved in a crash in West Bridgewater.

Just after 7 a.m., State Police troopers responded to a crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater that involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Investigators believe that the car rear-ended the trailer, according to a State Police spokesperson.

Carlos Monteiro, 33, suffered fatal injuries. He was driving the car, officials said.

Authorities closed the right and middle lanes of the highway for about two hours while an investigation took place.

Officials did not release more information about the tractor-trailer, but footage taken by WCVB shows investigators focusing on a truck with the Amazon logo on it.
