A New York man fell off the roof of a moving bus on the Maine Turnpike on Friday.

Around 11:17 a.m., Maine State Police received a report of a man who fell off the roof of a moving bus in Kittery.

Upon arrival at the scene, police observed bus passengers and other motorists providing aid to a 35-year-old man.

Witnesses told police that the man said he was overheated before opening the bus’s emergency roof hatch and climbing onto the roof while the bus was moving.

The bus driver attempted to slow the bus down and pull over after realizing what the man was doing, police say.
