Man dead after being struck by BMW in Georgetown

The driver remained at the scene, according to officials. 

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a BMW in Georgetown Thursday evening, according to officials. 

A 2018 BMW 430xi Coupe struck the man at about 5:41 p.m. near 50 West Main St., the Essex County District Attorney’s Office said. 

The pedestrian was rushed to Merrimack Health Haverhill Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the DA’s office. Authorities have not publicly identified him, pending notification of his next of kin.

The BMW driver remained at the scene. 

Massachusetts State Police and the Georgetown Police Department are investigating the collision.
