Readers capture stunning Northern Lights — and you might see them again tonight

Boston.com readers shared photos of the Northern Lights over Boston and New England. The aurora borealis could return Wednesday night.

Boston.com readers stepped outside Tuesday night to capture a rare sight: the Northern Lights illuminating the skies across Boston and New England.

The aurora borealis, caused by a strong geometric storm, painted the night sky in vivid pinks, greens, and blues — and readers were quick to share their stunning photos.
