A 20-year-old man died in a car fire in Easton on Tuesday.
Easton police responded to a single-car crash near Route 138 past the Raynham town line around 1 a.m., according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a blue Tesla, significantly damaged and actively on fire, in a wooded area approximately 20 feet from the southbound lane, officials said.
Police found human remains in the rear seat, later identified as the 20-year-old man, according to the attorney’s office.
The name of the victim has not yet been released as police work to notify the victim’s next of kin.
An autopsy is pending, but officials do not suspect foul play at this time.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing by Easton police, Massachusetts State Police, and the district attorney’s office.
