One driver is dead after a wrong-way crash in Methuen on Sunday.
Around 1:30 a.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to a two-car crash on I-495 South near Route 213 North.
One vehicle drove the wrong way and crashed into a tractor trailer head on before catching fire, state police say.
One driver died and the other was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police say. Police did not specify which driver died.
First responders from the Andover State Police Barracks, Andover Fire and EMS, and Essex County State Police Detectives responded to the crash, state police say. Methuen police blocked off nearby roads, according to the police department.
