New Hampshire State Police are investigating after a duck hunter found decomposed human remains in Merrimack, New Hampshire, on Sunday morning.
According to a press release from State Police, the hunter found the remains near the banks of the Merrimack River off Wright Avenue.
Members of the Merrimack Police Department initially responded, secured the area, and requested assistance from Marine Patrol because the scene was close to the river.
Personnel from the State Police and the Merrimack Police Department are investigating what happened. At the same time, the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are assisting with identifying the remains.
State Police say additional information will be released when it becomes available.
