An 89-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Franklin on Monday.
Franklin police say emergency responders received a report of a serious crash involving a pedestrian near 354 Pleasant St. around 8 a.m.
Responders found the pedestrian with serious injuries from the single-car crash and began performing life-saving measures, police say.
Although a medical helicopter was requested, the man was ultimately transported to a nearby hospital by the Franklin Fire Department.
The victim, Ugo Ciannavei, 89, of Franklin, was soon pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
