One dead after Saturday afternoon crash on Route 125 in Andover

Officials did not say what caused the crash, which shut down Route 125 in the area for hours.

One person died in a Saturday-afternoon crash that shut down Route 125 in Andover.

State Police troopers responded to a three-car crash at the intersection of Route 125 and Vine Street just after 2 p.m., a State Police spokesperson said.

One of the drivers involved suffered fatal injuries. Their identity has not been released to the public.

The spokesperson could not provide any information about the circumstances of the crash, only saying that the matter is under investigation.

Andover Fire Rescue asked members of the public to avoid Route 125 between Salem Street and Gould Road in a Facebook post Saturday afternoon. Route 125 was closed in the area until 5:15 p.m., the State Police spokesperson said.
