Police in Framingham are searching for a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a grocery store using a large kitchen knife.

The armed robbery took place on Wednesday at about 8:45 a.m. at Dubom Supermarket on Worcester Road, police said.
As he was checking out at the store, a man pulled a knife from a Burlington Coat Factory bag and attempted to the grab the cashier. He seemingly directed her to hand over money from the cash register, but she refused and moved away, according to surveillance footage.
The suspect was seen wearing a Puma hoodie and a “beanie hat with holes to cover his face,” according to Framingham police. Investigators found the hat in a dumpster in a nearby parking lot. The suspect spoke Brazilian Portuguese, the cashier told police.
Officials are circulating images of the man without his face covering. Anyone with relevant information is urged to call the Framingham Police Department at 508-872-1212.
