A man is in custody after someone was shot and killed in a Dorchester apartment early Thursday morning, according to Boston police.
BPD officers responded to 107 Bloomfield St. at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday, officials said. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment there.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released to the public.
Angel Rivera, 30, of Dorchester was arrested after the BPD consulted with the Suffolk District Attorney’s office. He was charged with manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. Rivera is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
There is an active investigation underway. Anyone with relevant information is urged to call the BPD at 617-343-4470 or submit an anonymous tip.
