Driver killed in collision with MBTA bus

The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash.

A driver was killed in a collision with an MBTA bus in Lynn early on Sunday, according to MBTA Transit Police.

Around 4:30 a.m., a 2016 Honda Civic driven by a 41-year-old man crossed the double yellow lines on the Route 107 bridge into the path of the oncoming bus, which did not have any passengers, police said. The vehicles collided head on, and the man was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.

The bus driver did not sustain any injuries, according to police.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
